WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING 22 January 1999:
STANFORD HIGHLIGHT
Dr. John Goebel has completed the cryotest of a flight DPA for channel A.
Preliminary analysis of the data appear acceptable. John has also begun
testing a flight DPA for channel B. Preliminary analysis of the data for
this channel look encouraging. These two DPAs (assuming they are found to
be acceptable) comprise a single set of DPAs for the flight instrument.
Once we are satisfied with these two DPAs we will be in a position to
install them on the telescope and begin the bonding of the telescope to
the
quartz block.
SPACE VEHICLE
HIGHLIGHT
The final inspection of the Relativity Mission SPRU (Standard Power
Regulation Unit) was performed at Engineered Magnetics in Rancho Dominguez,
California on Thursday, January 7. Once the SPRU mechanical assembly is
complete, a random vibration test and thermal vacuum test will be performed.
