Gravity Probe B

Testing Einstein's Universe

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING 29 January 1999:

STANFORD HIGHLIGHT
Dr. John Goebel has finished the cryotesting of an A channel and a B channel DPA. These two channels comprise a full set of DPAs for the flight instrument. As such, this is a major program achievement. Next, these DPAs will be installed on the flight telescope and the telescope will be bonded to flight quartz block. Photo: Quartz block with telescope

SPACE VEHICLE HIGHLIGHT
The Probe C window 4 development unit successfully passed its post-random vibration leak test and bolt torque inspection. This successful engineering testing paves the way for final assembly of the flight window 4.
