WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING 09 October 1998:
STANFORD HIGHLIGHT
Mike Irwin, with the support of Rob Brumley and Greg Gutt,
integrated the
prototype GSS Science Mission High Level Backup
(SMHB) analog controller
with the prototype low-noise Science
Drive amplifiers and successfully
suspended the GSS testbed
this past weekend. Performance of the backup
controller/science
amp/testbed system matches simulated results very well.
Detailed
performance testing is underway; preliminary results show that
this backup controller is meeting all its performance requirements.
This is
the second piece of the three controller backup suite. The
third and final
piece will be exercised with the testbed in the
coming weeks. Photo1: Mike Irwin, Photo 2: Chart-describes gyro

A successful Relativity Mission battery Critical Design Review (CDR) was
held in Colorado Springs at Eagle Pitcher, the battery subcontractor.
A
productive working session was held following the review to work open
issues. A well-defined list of actions was created to guide the open issues
to closure. Photo: The Relativity Mission Battery CDR Team: Marc Campell,
