Gravity Probe B

Testing Einstein's Universe

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING 3 AUGUST 2001:

PAYLOAD TEST TEAM SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES PAYLOAD LEVEL GYROSCOPE TESTING
The payload test team has completed gyroscope testing at the payload level. We believe that these four gyroscopes meet all on-orbit requirements. The team has also been working on resolving a number of GSE issues that support the completion of thermal verifications at the payload level. These verifications involve the use of the various temperature controllers in the payload.

PROTON MONITOR INSTALLED ON SPACECRAFT
The GP-B team successfully installed the flight Proton Monitor on the GP-B Spacecraft in the LM B/205 High Bay.
