Gravity Probe B

Testing Einstein's Universe

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING 2 AUGUST 2002:

COMPLETED FIRST MOTION TEST OF SOLAR ARRAY #2
The first motion test of solar array #2 was successfully completed. Significant recent progress has been made on the fabrication of the space vehicle thermal blankets. To date, 133 of 161 blankets are in-house. The cryogenics team completed filling the dewar main tank to approximately 95 % full. An anomaly associated with this last fill process is in-work. The team understands the anomaly and is working on a closure plan.
