Gravity Probe B

Testing Einstein's Universe

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING 13 SEPTEMBER 2002:

GMA DELIVERED TO STANFORD
The GMA was successfully delivered to Stanford. The GMA is now being integrated into the gyroscope acceptance probe located at Stanford. The plan is to use the GMA to perform a low speed and high speed spin up of a low temperature gyroscope. The GMA will be installed on to the space vehicle following these spin up tests.

SPACE VEHICLE INTEGRATION CONTINUES
Thermal blankets were installed on to the space vehicle during the past week. The dewar has been filled to more than 95 % full in preparation for the upcoming acoustic test. The dewar hardware anomaly has been successfully resolved. The final related test shows the hardware is now working nominally.
