WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING 17 July 1998:
STANFORD HIGHLIGHT
The
assembly of the thermal standoffs for two Detector Mount
Assemblies (DMA) and the attachment of the electrical
flat-wrap cables to these assemblies were completed. The
remaining work to complete these two Detector Mount Assemblies
include the attachment of the micro-D connectors at the probe
end of the cables and the bonding of the photodetector circuits
onto the DMA platforms.
SPACE
VEHICLE HIGHLIGHT
Spacecraft ambient testing was begun on Monday 13 July in
LMMS building 205. Initial testing involves Power Distribution
Unit (PDU) checkout and functional testing. The next step
will be Data Management System (DMS) testing including the
Command and Telemetry Unit (CTU), the Interface Unit (IU) and
the Solid State Recorder (SSR).
