WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING 11 July 1997:

STANFORD HIGHLIGHT
Chris Gray has successfully levitated and spun up all three GTU-2 gyroscopes installed in Probe B. He has completed the room temperature verification of Gyroscopes #1 and #3. The verification of Gyroscope #4 is expected to be complete on Thursday, 6/10/97. Probe B is expected to be taken to the FIST Operations facility next week.

PAYLOAD HIGHLIGHT

Probe-C Integration - Integration of the composite neck tube to the Probe assembly was completed successfully on 27 June. After the false start four days earlier, the adhesive tape was replaced and the tape width was decreased slightly. We went a little slower and the tube went on perfectly. Stanford and DCMC personnel were on hand to witness the operation. This is a major milestone for probe-C assembly, and the team is to be congatulated.

SPACECRAFT HIGHLIGHT

Installation of the Standard Power Regulation Unit (SPRU) fittings and equipment pallet on the flight equipment section structure is complete. A mass simulator of the SPRU has been installed for transmissibility testing scheduled for the second half of July.
