WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK ENDING 7 JULY 2000:

PAYLOAD HIGHLIGHT
The gyroscope group has completed the third practice of the gyroscope replacement procedure. The practice and associated gyroscope tests were fully successful. These tests included levitation, cavity exploration, and slow speed spindown rate testing. The team members involved in this work included P. Bayer, R. Brumley, and C. Gray.

The white plug is a dummy sensor used to keep the rotor in place until the real one is inserted. The bottom half contains the plumbing retainers for the gas exhaust lines. The technician is using a pair of tweezers to slowly insert one portion of the exhaust lines into the other.

SPACE VEHICLE HIGHLIGHT
The Forward and Aft ECU boxes have begun acceptance testing. Both have completed baseline functional testing in LMSS B/203 and are being prepared for shock testing.
